What is the best way to stimulate creativity in adults? It seems as if some adults loose the abiltiy to be creative, they forget how to imagine. Details...the reason I ask is I am doing a personal study on creativity and this seems like an excellent place to start. I am a first time visitor so I guess I will see what comes of all this.
How can we promote CREATIVITY, ORIGINALITY and INNOVATION in our studies, research/work and daily life? 1.Is creativity innate and inborn? Or can it be cultivated? 2. If YES, How can we be more creative, original and inventive with respect to our work/studies/research/daily life? 3. My dad says that just hard, focussed work and deep knowledge is necessary to be creative. (Edison's 99% perspiration and 1% inspiration formula). Do you agree? (source - Recently went through a research based Masters degree and was pretty frustrated at the end with the little amount of original and creative work I came up with for my thesis. Also, life (am working now) seems to be quite linear and monotonic nowadays. Hence, I want to know, how people out there are inventive, how they come up with original ideas and results, and how they are more creative in general. Please give your ideas, views and suggestions. Thanks!

What should I get my degree in to maximize my creativity? I'm not really interested in an English degree because I hate writing essays, but I like to use my creativity and have always wanted to be a children's author but didn't think it was practical. I'm also interested in theatre, but I don't really think acting is the answer for me. I'm just trying to think of something to honestly just do with my life, seeing as my gen ed classes are done with but I do want a degree. And I want to start moving with my life very soon. Thank you everyone.

Where does your creativity come from? Telling me what you have made, authored, or created is not a good enough proof. And, seriously no offence against christians? But nothing about "God inspired me" or for that matter, "bhudda/spirituality/religion inspired me". I want to know about the upwelling of spontanious creativity that wells from you. Reminder: by "you" I don't mean that I want your answer for people in general, I want to know about you, specifically, personally.
Does Lithium have an adverse effect on creativity? I have recently been diagnosed as bi-polar, and I've been doing some research. Lithium seems like a pretty decent choice of medicine to discuss with my psychiatrist. However, I'm a writer. I'd rather not take Lithium if it's going to interfere with my creativity. Any information?
Do you believe that drugs that affect the mind enhance creativity? I also wonder if such thing as creativity exists at all, since we are constantly affected by the world around us, hence, other people s ideas undeniably enter our psyche..does the existence of creativity as an idea depend on the human tendency to forget? in other words, nothing new under the sun?
Is it possible to lose your creativity? Lately I am struggling to express myself creatively and I was wondering if it was possible to lose your creativity during your adolescent emotional maturity. I'm kinda freaked out. I guess you could call it extended writer's block. Has anyone felt like this?
Do you believe creativity has a direct relationship with emotion? Whenever I'm sad I feel an urge to draw, and on the other hand when I'm happy I also feel an urge to draw. It's when I'm in an indifferent mood, neither happy nor sad, that I feel "uncreative". Has anyone else experienced this? Do you think there is a psychological link between emotion and creativity?
What happened to creativity in television commercials? These days the majority of tv ads I see are really awful - boring, poor taste, incomprehensible, pathetic, ridiculous. Every now and again you get a few great ads from the big players like beer companies, Coke (http://au.video.yahoo.com/video/play?vid=416244)....the rest I am struggling to think of. I am aware of the Greatest TV Commercials shows and various advertising awards, but they are few and far between. Great ads don't have to cost a fortune, but they need to be creative. What happened to the creativity from the 80s and 90s in TV advertisements?

CREATIVITY NEEDED: How many different strategies can you think of to attract people to a AAA baseball park? thinking of a way to increase the number of people interested in return regularly to the games... and at the end becoming fans as well! My hometown's local team, Tigres (Tigers in spanish) are evaluating the possibility of moving because of low attendance... I am planning a whole campaign trying to avoid this happening... The management claims to be doing everything to promote it but yet haven't done really much! I wan't to offer them fresh ideas to improve the park's performance...
Are creativity and bipolar disorder connected? How or why? I have been diagnosed with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and I am a young, flourishing artist. I have also been noticing that people with higher intellect often seem to have a mental disorder of some sort, as well as people who are creative. I am writing a research paper for psychology, and would like to write about the connection between creativity and mental illness, bipolar disorder in particular. Is there really a connection, and if so, why?
