Problems taking the initiative/control or being the Dominant one in a relationship?

It feels like gender roles are set in stone, especially when you are a guy. If a person is a guy, therefore they do this, this and this and NEVER DO that, that and that. However, for me, it has never felt natural to take the initiative or be the dominant one in a relationship. I always assumed it was an extreme form of shyness but even when I break from the shyness; it still doesn’t feel natural to take the lead. I don’t know whether I am secretly sub and would rather be the submissive one in a relationship. Are there any other guys affected by this problem? How have you been able to deal with it?

  1. Yes, some guys are like you - a bottom.
  2. A good relationship is accomplished when there are 2 people working together, to accomplish a life's goal. Not one being dominant over another. What kind of relationship would that be? You have seen enough of it in the media. Someone usually ends up getting hurt, or worse. Opposites do attract but being dominant does nothing to make the other party happy or content in any relationship.
