Work Takes

What is a good excuse for missing a day of work?

I will have an interview at a location about a 90 minute drive away. This interview will happen in about 10 days time, but seeing as my shift pattern is unpredictable at the moment, I dont know if I will be scheduled to work that day or not. It may be unlikely that I will get a days leave if I request one. Has anyone got any suggestions?

  1. phone in sick tell em that you have the two bob bit! that should do it! no one ever says anything after you say you got that. say you went out for a meal and eat something that didn't agree with you.
  2. Tell them you can't work that day or find a coworker willing to cover for you in case they say they don't have anyone to cover.
  3. Why would you have to explain the need for a day off? If I'm you, I'd put in a leave request to be off on that day and don't give them too much information. You need a day off to take care of personal business, and your employer should have no interest in knowing what that business is. The sooner you put in that request, the better your chances are for getting the day off, as your supervisor can work around it when doing the scheduling of staff. Good luck with the interview!
  4. tell them if you are a man that you had pain in your penis or if you are agirl tell them that you falled flat on the ground with your chest, and you have pains in your breasts
  5. Tell them that you had a very bad case of diaria and tell them that you are throwin up
  6. start complaining of some sort of ailment, back, toothache..whatever and then a day or two later tell them that you made an appointment for that time and you really need off. Its easier for an excuse if your a girl...
