Work Takes

How can I actually get through a work day while suffering with morning sickness?

I work at best buy..on my feet most of the time and dealing with customers almost all the time. I can't just be excusing myself every five minutes to throw up. I just gotta be able to make it through the majority of my day without getting sick...any tips? or survivor stories? lol

  1. I got two suggestions for you. Ginger tea and peppermint (tea, altoids, anything with peppermint oil, really). Both are extremely good for treating nausea, and both are completely harmless to your unborn child. You can consume as much of them as you want without fear of harming your baby, and both are very effective.
  2. I know where you are coming from, I worked in a day care and you can't just leave toddlers standing there while you go throw up. I remember the doc told me that sometimes it is related to the fact you don't have enough in your stomach and the acids take over and the throwing up begins. I would take plain almonds with me to work, not salted ones and keep them in my pocket and much on them during the day. They are high in protein and seemed to help me out a lot. Good luck!
  3. Ask your doctor for an RX for Zofran. It's expensive, but it's the only thing that will work through this difficult times. I tried everything like crackers, ginger ale, etc..nothing worked. I had 2 children, with the first one I had morning sickness 4-5 times a DAY until i was well into my 6th month. With the second baby, I only got sick 3 times during the entire pregnancy.
  4. First off congrats! My sis-in-law is pregnant at the moment and the doctor has prescribed her some anti-nausea pills?? She says they work well. Otherwise she snacks on dry crackers and it seems to settle her stomach. Good luck!
  5. Vitamin B6 100mg dly helps many. Ginger also works for some. Suggest a good Pregnancy & Lactation supplement and women who supplement fish oil capsules have healthier pregnancies, almost never suffer postnatal depression, have healthier and more stable mental-emotional offspring even to adulthood. Also supplement Inner Health for vital bifidobacterium in the birth canal on delivery and breast feeding then proliferates babies bifido to enhance immune system and much more. 6. You may be able to alleviate nausea by keeping some food in your stomach — by avoiding having a stomach that’s completely empty or completely full. Here are some other dietary suggestions for preventing or relieving nausea: Eat smaller meals or snacks frequently throughout the day. Before getting out of bed in the morning, eat a couple of soda crackers or a piece of dry toast. Rise slowly, allowing some time for digestion to occur before you get up. Have a small snack at bedtime and when you get up to go to the bathroom at night. Avoid foods and smells that trigger nausea. Drink fewer fluids with your meals. You should always try nondrug remedies first, since it's best not to expose your developing baby to any drugs if you can help it. http://www.endmorningsickness.co.cc Thanks
