Does 15 minutes of excersie here and there throughout the day work?
I have been trying to loose 20 lbs and am having loads of trouble. I eat decent, but don't excersie like I should. I know you should have 1 hour a day 5 days a week, but I have trouble with this. Do any of you have experience with weight loss excersing 15 mins or so at a time throughout the day to equal 1 hour? I never tried because in my mind I don't think it would work. But I am not moving like I should so I need to try something. Any help?!?!? I have the eating right down ok, just need to move more.

- 20 minutes at a time of continuous movement will work -don't try to make it a specific workout-just take a walk or a swim or play some basketball-have a lot of fun and before you know it the pounds will come off
- That sounds like a good plan, make sure it's some kind of cardio, that is the "best" way to burn fat and/or calories. Cardiovascular exercises shouldn't be more than 15 or 20 mins at a time anyway. Start slow and work your way up, plus the idea of doing it a few times a day is good, it'll give you energy boosts throuought the day. I also found Pilates to be very helpful and the breathing helps with anxiety. If you can, sign up for a Pilates class and jump on the bike or treadmill for 15mins before the class for a warm-up! Sometimes being committed to a class helps then you're not exercising alone and you may make new friends as well!
- Absolutely! Great job! You're on the right track! It's good to start out slow! It's best to work your way up slowly to doing an hour at once. Since you aren't use to working out for an hour straight, you could hurt yourself if you did start out with an hour! If you feel comfortable starting out doing intervals of 15 min. then go for it! Just be sure to step that up when you feel that you're ready. Sounds like you know what you want and you're going to go for it! You can accomplish anything if you set your mind to it! Good luck!
- Exercise works best when u can feel it start to burn or whatever you want to call it. Getting any exercise would be better than getting none at all because you think it wont work. Peoples bodies respond differently to different types of workouts and sometimes you need to mix it up a lil bit by doing your workout faster or slower or more or less strenoues like once a week or so. Once you start making yourself actualluy work out regularly for about a month or so it should be pretty easy to keep the ball rolling you just need to get over that first hump to where it becomes like second nature to you.
